Earth Day Participants 2008

Eighteen businesses and organizations from the Devens region hosted informational tables at this year’s first annual “Make Every Day Earth Day!” event held at the Devens Community Center.  Participants displayed information on their business/organization and how they are implementing sustainability into their operations and corporate ethic.  Attendees had the opportunity to:

¨ Talk with local business representatives and learn how they took action to conserve energy, decrease water consumption, collect recyclables, and minimize waste – and how these actions benefited the organization

¨ Learn how natural resources in the area are being protected by the Devens Open Space and Recreation Plan, Friends of the Oxbow, U.S. Fish and Wildlife, others

¨ Collect information regarding resources and services available that can help your organization adopt more sustainable practices and save money
